Dr. Michelle Blake joined the Sociology faculty in 2006.  Dr. Blake previously served on the Social Work faculties of Western Kentucky University and the University of Southern Indiana.  In addition to teaching, Dr. Blake is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Her practice interests include the resolution of trauma, including sexual assault. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and grief counseling, including perinatal bereavement and infertility.  Dr. Blake's undergraduate work was at Christian Brothers University in Memphis (also her birthplace).  Her MSSW is from the University of Louisville, and her Ph.D. is from Florida State University.  Dr. Blake shares her private life with her husband, Bruce, and a houseful of pets.
